Information about the band on Wikipedia is being updated regularly, seemingly by one or other 'insider'. Specifically, the current line-up is emphasized, suggesting that the band is far from dead.

April 5, 2007:

THE BEAST HAS AWAKEN!!! This is something in between a semi-offial and an official statement, and no more can be said at the moment. However, it's not unlikely that more news will be posted before next year.

March 24, 2007:

Some people put video clips from 'Perpetual Desolation Live' on YouTube. A good chance for those among you who haven't had the opportunity yet to see the band 'live'.

After about four years after the last gig, The Sins Of Thy Beloved will play again at the Lost Souls Halloween Festival in Kristiansand, Norway.
Here is the poster and here a picture of the current line-up.
You don't recognize anybody? Here you get the picture with the legend. Anders Thue will still join the band for gigs and recordings, and Pete Johansen is still playing as a session musician!
Maiken Olaisen and Pete Johansen have something in common...they played together in the insane band the Scarr!

The Sins of thy Beloved (Lost Souls Festivalen)

Som tredje annonserte band dukker dette norske gothmetalbandet opp. The Sins of Thy Beloved har i mange år gjort det bra ute i den store verden.

Lost Souls (Kristiansand 29. oktober) har booket bandet til å spille under festivalen, og da bandet har vært 'nede' i lang tid er det trolig en hel del som er nysgjerrige på hva de har bedrevet tiden med. Det er en god stund siden vi fikk nytt materiale fra gjengen, da i form av Perpetual Desoltaion.

Forruten denne har bandet bare en skive til på samvittigheten, debuten Lake of Sorrow. Det kom også ut en mini-cd/ep helt i startfasen, hvor et par av låtene havnet på nevnte debut. Vi snakker ikke om verdens mest produktive band med andre ord, muligens er det på tide med nytt album?

Ifølge Therese fra festivalledelsen, er bandet tilbake for fullt, så det kommer garantert til å skje saker og ting etter hvert som ukene går mot avspark for de fortapte sjelers festival.

Alas... a reliable source reports Anita, Ingfrid and Anders are no longer taking part in the new album. We'll also have to wait until 2006 for the new album, since the band is still looking for another female singer...

The rumours seem to be correct (reliable source), and more: the violin player will very probably be Pete Johansen again!!!
Now let's hope Anita changed her mind and will join the Sins again...

The rumours of The Sins of Thy Beloved bringing out a new cd seems to be confirmed officially now...
Although a similar email from some time ago to Napalm got a similar answer ("next year (2004) a new cd will come out"), maybe we should take it seriously now.

The rumour had been on the site of Mindview, and now somewhat more officially confirmed on Gothweb (thanks, Mortis_Rigor And Doominium!).

Now here's the answer on the question if The Sins are still active and will bring out a new cd:

Yes this is absolutelly correct. They will bring out in May/June their new album. About a new website I'll foward your question to our promotion manager if he knows something about it he will get backt to you asap. With Big Napalm Greetings
